Pumpkin seeds are very nutritional. One-fourth of a cup of pumpkin seeds contains 180 calories and almost 20 percent of the daily recommended amount of protein. This same quantity of pumpkin seeds contains almost 75 percent of the daily value of manganese. Pumpkin also contain zinc, a large amount of phosphorus, copper, magnesium and iron. The seeds also contain antioxidants in the form of vitamin E, which protect the cells of the body.
