17 symptoms of tuberculosis

Though, there are general symptoms of tuberculosis(TB) but it is better for the interest of my readers to state the symptoms according to the type of tuberculosis. Tuberculosis is among the world’s deadliest disease since it usually develops slowly and the symptoms might not come to light until months or even years after you were initially infected.

The following are the list of the types or forms of tuberculosis disease and their symptoms
Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB)

Tuberculosis that infect the lungs is known
as pulmonary TB.

Symptoms are:

lack of appetite and excessive weight loss

a persistent cough which may lead to bleeding of blood if not properly taken care of. Therefore, if you have persistent cough that seem not to go away after using cough medicines, see your doctor as it may be a sign of TB.

A very high and abnormal body temperature

General body weakness, tiredness or fatigue

Difficulty in breathing or breathlessness

Excessive night sweat

Undue body and neck pain for several weeks

Extrapulmonary tuberculosis (TB)

Tuberculosis that occur outside the lungs is known as extrapulmonary TB.

Extrapulmonary TB commonly occur in people who have initially been infected with TB but haven’t had any Signs and HIV/AIDS patients because of their weak immune system.

Consistent and painless swelling of the lymph nodes, which usually affects nodes in the neck, but swelling can occur in nodes throughout your body and if not properly treated, the swollen nodes can release fluid through the skin

Gastrointestinal TB

Excessive and abdominal pain

rectal bleeding and in some cases

Diarrhea

Genitourinary TB

a burning sensation during urinating which may result to passing out of blood during urination

a persistent feeling to pass urine during the night

skeletal TB

Difficulty moving

Excessive bone pain

curvature bone or joint

Fragile bone
