Tobacco companies orders to set aside almost C$ 1 billion

According to report, a Canadian
appeal court on Tuesday ordered
two major tobacco companies to
set aside a combined C$984
million ($742 million) while they
challenge billions of dollars in
damages awarded to smokers in
the province of Quebec.

I don't it is right for tobacco manufacturing company to be paying
damages to smokers because they know what they are smoking might
affect their health and can cause cancer.

What money are they setting aside and what damages are they paying?
